On November 28, 2024, the Galați community came together for the annual edition of “8 Hours Overtime for a Noble Cause,” an initiative that continues to inspire. In an atmosphere of solidarity and passion, professionals from various fields donated eight hours of their time to support local non-profit organizations. The event took place at Hops Gallery and attracted both enthusiastic volunteers and community leaders.
An Evening of Impact and Dedication
This year’s edition brought together six non-profit organizations, each with specific needs and ambitious projects. Volunteers worked tirelessly to find creative and efficient solutions, contributing their expertise in graphic design, web development, marketing, and more.
Event Agenda:
- 18:00 – 19:00: Meet & Greet
Volunteers got to know each other in an atmosphere filled with positive energy and enthusiasm. - 19:00 – 19:30: Event Introduction
Organizers presented the event’s goals, and teams were assigned to projects. - 19:30 – 21:30: First Work Session
Participants began collaborating on the NGOs’ projects. - 21:30 – 22:30: Dinner Break
An opportunity to socialize and exchange ideas in a relaxed setting. - 22:30 – 01:30: Final Work Sessions & Project Presentations
Volunteers refined the last details and presented their results to the NGOs. - 01:30 – 02:00: Conclusions & Closing
The event ended with words of appreciation for all involved and a deep sense of accomplishment.
Causes Supported in 2024
Each NGO present at the event had clear objectives and received specialized support from volunteers:
1. Fantasticii Down Association
- Needs: Promotional materials, Christmas campaign graphics, marketing strategies.
- Expertise Provided: Marketing, graphic design, fundraising.
2. Association for Rescue, Recovery, and Humanitarian Aid
- Needs: Internal platform for volunteer management and planning.
- Expertise Provided: Web development, graphic design.
3. Saving Hands Association
- Needs: Posters and flyers about first aid and organizational activities.
- Expertise Provided: Graphic design, content writing.
4. Cultural Association for Romanian Traditions and Customs “VATRA”
- Needs: Updating their online store and website.
- Expertise Provided: Web development, graphic design.
5. Their World, Everyone’s World Association
- Needs: Annual graphic report for print and web.
- Expertise Provided: Graphic design.
6. OpenHub
- Needs: Uploading products to the LERU platform and optimization.
- Expertise Provided: Web development, graphic design.
Results and Impact
The event once again demonstrated the power of a united community working towards a common cause. In just eight hours, volunteers contributed to creating promotional materials, developing digital platforms and solutions, and crafting marketing strategies that will help non-profit organizations fulfill their missions.
