The Leru.ro project started in 2019 and has since had a significant impact on the local community and beyond. We have managed to raise funds and direct them to needy children or other humanitarian causes. In 2019, we supported 80 children through the Scientiescu and Generations cases, with a total of 2451 donated products and 13340 lei collected. In 2020, we exceeded all expectations and tripled the amount of the first year, reaching the impressive amount of 37254 lei.
This money quickly turned into 50 high-performance tablets, equipped with free internet for 2 years, with the generous support of our partners at Orange. After hours of installing applications, we distributed these tablets to schools in the county.
In collaboration with the Inima de Copil Foundation in 2021, we focused on supporting the education of academically talented children, but who, because of poverty, are at risk of dropping out of school. Our goal was to raise the equivalent of 12 scholarships of 5000 lei each, to cover the needs of requests, clothing and footwear for 12 talented children. The target of 60,000 lei may seem ambitious, but we believe that it is important to have high aspirations and, with the support of the community, we have proved that we can these goals.
