The ReGreen VR project is an innovative initiative aimed at using virtual reality (VR) technology to educate and raise public awareness about the importance of the green transition and ecosystem restoration. The project is the result of a collaboration between the Openhub Association and VRINN Immersive Learning Cluster from Norway, combining expertise in environmental education and VR technology to create an interactive educational tool.

About ReGreen VR:

The ReGreen VR project aims to address the growing need for innovative tools for environmental education and effective ecosystem restoration strategies. Using advanced Virtual Reality (VR) technology, the project provides immersive and interactive learning experiences.

Users can explore realistic ecological scenarios and directly observe the impact of various environmental practices. We will create a dynamic platform to promote understanding of green transition solutions and to encourage sustainable practices in local communities in Romania and Norway.

ReGreen VR is not just a technological innovation, but also a community-focused project, designed to raise awareness and empower individuals to actively contribute to a more sustainable future.

Project Objectives

  • Innovative Environmental Education: Creating an interactive platform that facilitates learning about ecosystems and the green transition through virtual reality.
  • Promoting the Green Transition: Simulating the positive and negative effects of environmental practices to raise awareness of their impact.
  • Bilateral Collaboration: A partnership between Romania and Norway, involving knowledge exchanges and joint workshops for developing sustainable solutions.
  • Engaging Local Communities: Organizing workshops and events to educate and mobilize communities in Galați and Hamar to adopt sustainable practices.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Creation of the ReGreen VR Platform: An immersive virtual reality platform that simulates environmental restoration scenarios in Galați and Hamar.
  • Establishment of a VR/AR Laboratory: A state-of-the-art laboratory within the Openhub Creative Cluster, equipped with VR/AR technology for developing and testing educational solutions.
  • Community Engagement through Workshops: Organizing four workshops and public events to educate and involve local communities in adopting sustainable practices.
  • Improving Bilateral Cooperation: Strengthening relations between Romania and Norway, establishing a long-term partnership for future project collaboration.
