In an atmosphere full of enthusiasm and hope, OpenHub, in partnership with the Dodoroni Association, inaugurated the ‘Camp at the Castle’ program at Kids Zone Galați. This initiative, dedicated to children from Ukraine, started on April 13, 2022, and is planned to run for a period of 7 weeks, offering emotional support and recreational activities for the little ones.
The opening day was filled with emotions and smiles, marking the beginning of a series of meetings where children can socialize, relax, and play, benefiting from a safe and friendly environment. Within the program, the children will have access to dance workshops, painting, games, as well as Romanian and English language courses. Movies and fun in the playground will complete the agenda of activities.
Funded by OpenHub through the international MitOst Ukraine Solidarity Fund, the project aims to provide a creative and educational refuge for children affected by the situation in Ukraine. At the opening, the energy and communication between the children were palpable, bringing a ray of light and normality to their lives shaken by recent events.
Partners of this project, including Marili, AQUA Carpatica, Grande Dolceria Romania, Kids Zone Galați, Rotary Club Galați Vigoris, and ING Romania, have significantly contributed to the success of this event.
Over the course of 7 weeks, every Wednesday and Friday, from 10:00 to 12:00, the children enjoyed many fun workshops. The program also included a parent-child play workshop, representing an excellent opportunity to strengthen the family bond and to provide emotional support to both children and parents.
OpenHub’s involvement in this project reflects the organization’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and promoting humanitarian values. Our vision and efforts are rewarded with the children’s smiles, reminding us of the importance and positive impact of these initiatives.
We invite you to join and support this wonderful project, sharing the information in groups of Ukrainian refugees and participating in future workshops.
