Date: September 23, 2022 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am
Location: Aleea Lalelelor Nr. 10, Galati, Romania
On a bright September morning, excitement and innovation enveloped the Aleea Lalelelor in Galati. Teams in the Danube Air Hackathon competed for a prize of 2000 RON and a paid internship offered by Openhub.
While the competition was in full swing, Thecon’s team of volunteers worked tirelessly to develop the platform that will provide vital information about Galati’s air quality, a project funded by Semimaraton Galati 2022, a program of the Galati Community Foundation.
Teams such as “Cabluri încurcate“, “Pythons” and “Rebooters” brought a mix of creativity, skill and passion to the event, turning the Hackathon into a real tech fest. Thanks go to the teams Cleste.ro, sitebunker.ro for web hosting, and Vlad Mototolea from PicturePerfect.ro for supporting and assisting the teams.
After moments of tension and intense deliberation, the “Rebooters” team was declared the big winner of the Danube Air Hackathon. With four dedicated students, the team distinguished itself through seriousness and innovation, developing the basis for the first air quality measurement sensor.
Although ‘Cabluri încurcate’ and ‘Pythons’ didn’t take first place, their efforts didn’t go unrewarded. The 100 lei vouchers offered by Clește.ro will serve as an incentive to continue their inspiring projects.
The Danube Air 2022 Hackathon demonstrated that innovation, passion and collaboration can bring meaningful change and solutions to the challenges facing our community. A memorable day for Galati and a step forward towards a healthier, more tech-savvy future.
