On November 9th, the VIth edition of ‘8 Hours Over Work for a Noble Cause’ took place. Organized by OpenHub in partnership with Galați Community Foundation and supported by Thecon, the event was a vibrant demonstration of solidarity and civic commitment.
Community Impact
This volunteer marathon brought together professionals from various fields, giving them the chance to actively contribute to the development of the local community. From web developers and graphic designers to marketing and communication experts, all donated 8 hours of their time to support non-profit organizations in Galați. Among the beneficiary NGOs were the Association Happy Group Gifts Galați, the Fantastic Down Association Galați, the Students’ League from the “Lower Danube” University, and many others, each with specific needs and ambitious projects.
A Night of Creativity and Collaboration
The event started with a Meet & Greet at 6:00 PM, creating a friendly and open atmosphere. In the following hours, volunteers split into teams and worked diligently on various projects: from creating websites and logos to developing communication strategies and fundraising campaigns. The meal break provided a moment of respite and networking before resuming activities with renewed energy.
Results and Presentations
Around 12:00 AM, each team presented the results of their work. It was a moment of pride and emotion, seeing how ideas and efforts were transformed into concrete solutions, ready to make a real impact on community life. The presentations not only showcased the talent and dedication of the volunteers but also the enormous potential of collaboration for noble causes.
Conclusion: A Resounding Success
‘8 Hours Over Work for a Noble Cause’ was not just a successful event, but a demonstration of the strength of community and the spirit of volunteering. It was a night filled with good cheer and hard work.
